Chaumet takes over the Forbidden City with an Exhibition

Imperial Splendours… this is what Chaumet is known for and this is in fact the title of the house’s new exhibition taking place in Beijing – China. Under the scientific direction of Henri Loyrette, the exhibit showcases Chaumet’s historic jewels, drawings and archives from the end of the 18th century to the beginning of the 21st century.

More than 300 works, jewels, paintings, drawings and objets d’art reflect Chaumet’s characteristic “art of jewelry” – highlighting the house’s style and visual codes. This is not all, as prominent museums and prestigious collections have joined to support the event, such as the Musée du Louvre, the Château de Fontainebleau and the Victoria and Albert Museum of London.

This exhibition, that will remain open in the Palace Museum until July 2nd, also opens the doors to the future thanks to the creative competition at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London – which has led to the creation of the 21st-century diadem.
