Cartier at SIHH 2019

Fine watchmaking and innovative techniques take a big turn with Cartier, one of the world’s largest luxury goodsbrands. The French luxury brand has always proved itself to be a source of cutting-edge technology and exceptional designs, from its jewelries to its fine timepieces. And this year was no exception, as the Swiss Salon welcomes into its humble abode all-things fabulously Cartier.

All the novelties showcased at the fair were remarkably innovative – on both a technical and aesthetic scale – proving yet again that Cartier beholds pioneering qualities in the realm of horology. And thus, the first out of the many watches is the Santos de Cartier Skeleton NoctambuleWatch, inspired by Alberto Santos-Dumont’s endeavor to light his way during his test flights. The timepiece features bridges coated with Super-LumiNova pigments which are invisible during the daytime yet radiate the stored light once night falls.

Another exquisite timepiece is the BaignoireAllongée watch (extra-large model), which is ultimately worn by women in the know. The signature watch marks a third chapter in the Baignoire story, by bringing forth daring designs and an extravagant bezel that manifests itself as sculpted gold and worked into studs to adopt the shape of the clou de Paris in Cartier’s jewelry repertoire.
