Serpenti Forever bags by Bulgari have been around for a while and we can’t deny that they are always a sight for sore eyes! With their signature enameled snakehead clasp, they have conquered the world of fashion and added a touch of style to every fashionista’s look. This year, the Roman house is proud to join forces with renowned shoe designer Nicholas Kirkwood and add a unique flair to its covetable bag.

This collaboration comes as no surprise as both Bulgari and Kirkwood are inspired by innovation, architectural design and graphic forms to create audacious and unconventional pieces. Two moments led to the creation of the Serpenti Collection by Nicholas Kirkwood, the first being the designer’s first visit to the Bulgari jewellery atelier in Rome where he watched craftsmen bring treasurable gems to life, and the second being the ‘Serpenti Form’ Bulgari exhibition in Rome showcasing the history of the snake motif.

“I created the chevron patterns using rubberized studs which have faceted ends that reminded me of diamond settings and some of the spectacular gemstones I had seen in the Bulgari High Jewellery atelier in Rome,” he explained.

It’s a hypnotizing capsule collection that stands out with its studded chevron pattern and sinuous zigzags that recall the graphic scales and lithe movements of a serpent. Flat and round buttons mingle with matte pyramidal ones, while a new twist takes over the signature snake head clasp – making it more modern than ever to adorn both the backpacks and the gold chain-strapped shoulder bags. As for colors, the palette features gemstone-inspired ones such as black and white, pink spinel, royal sapphire and gold.
