Bulgari Revives Its Roman Legacy in New York

This year, Bulgari renews its love for the Big Apple by reimagining its Fifth Avenue store. The house’s roman essence is brought once again to the heart of New York with a new architectural design concept specially developed by Peter Marino. However, the celebration of more than forty years of a strong relationship led to the creation of an exclusive jewelry capsule collection inspired by the energy, artistic boom and color explosion of the time that witnessed the beginning of this journey, the eclectic 70s.

Undisputedly a master in color combination, Bulgari brings its Roman legacy, glamour and vivacity to New York with jewelry pieces invaded by a fiery red, royal blue and diamonds combination. The artistic feel that takes over the pieces is the house’s way to honor the American city, which introduced Nicola Bulgari to the great artist Andy Warhol after he and his brothers Gianni and Paolo took the helm of the company in the 60s. Obsessed with design and colors, the American artist funnily asked Nicola Bulgari to exchange some of his paintings with some of the jeweler’s creations. Remembering this, he says: “In those days we were both very young and I did not like his style, and had no idea that one day his paintings would be worth so much money. So I simply refused. It was the worst deal of my life.”

The 70s were the times when Nicola Bulgari immediately fell in love with New York and the United States overall. His bond with this place was so strong that for more than 40 years, he split his life between the Eternal City and the Big Apple. And when these two meet, the least we can expect is a glamorous selection of jewels that cherish this bond, so head to the Photo Gallery below and check out the unsurprisingly wonderful creations.
