And the Winner of 2017 LOEWE Craft Prize Is…

The competition is over and it’s time for LOEWE to announce the winner of its 2017 LOEWE Craft Prize. This year, it’s for artist Ernst Gamperl to take over the art scene with his ‘Tree of Life 2’ piece. Born in Germany in 1965, he was selected among the 26 finalists, who were evaluated by a jury comprising leading figures from the design, architecture, journalism and museum curatorship industries.

On this occasion, the brand’s creative director Jonathan Anderson commented: “The work of Ernst Gamperl has something which conveys a unique voice and the physicality of these pieces will be important for many more years to come.”

If you are a talented artist and would like to live this exciting experience, the period for presenting submissions to the second edition of the LOEWE Craft Prize will start in June and the winner will be announced in Paris in 2018.
