Alberta Ferretti Pre-Fall 2017 Runway Collection

The Alberta Ferretti woman has always been known for her irreverent femininity and sensuality, but amidst the lavish rooms of Palazzo Donizetti in Milan, everything seemed to have taken quite the magical turn. Think a newfound concept of “see-now-buy-now”. Think three parts in a single show, from the first capsule collection of 'see-now-buy-now' knitwear “Rainbow Week” to the Alberta Ferretti Pre-Fall 2017 collection and the Alberta Ferretti Limited Edition collection.

"Accepting the invitation of Milan to open fashion spaces to the city, I decided to present a three-part show to the fast-paced fashion world that reveals my approach to fashion. With Rainbow Week I want to introduce the rapidity of the 'see-now-buy-now' concept in my world, while with the pre-collection I would like to reveal the methods of my creative process. With Limited Edition, I want to show the public what is behind the design of an exclusive garment and how it affects my interpretation of elegance, femininity, and exclusiveness," said Alberta Ferretti.

The army of models were outfitted in colorful cashmere-blend sweaters, turning the signal on for the “Rainbow Week collection”. Picture seven different sweaters dedicated to each day of the week and you’ll understand the designer’s take on diversity. Worn on lace dresses, there was something about these looks that screamed ‘effortlessly-chic’ and everyone seemed to be getting enthralled in the new frenzy. The looks slowly shifted to a princess-meets-bohemian mood, where tulle and chiffon seemed to blend ever-so romantically to form yet another Ferretti masterpiece. Velvet dresses took center stage and see-through laces burst into floral embroideries, considered as a beautiful nod to the designer’s knack for romance. The journey then unraveled unto a limited edition demi-couture collection, as a serious diva-like vibe relentlessly invaded the runway.

Red-carpet like gowns did the collection justice as mermaid dresses hanged tightly on the model’s silhouettes and made for an excpetionnal finale. The season’s pièce de resistence took the form of a sultry gold gown with a plunging neckline, worthy of the designer’s signature style.

The gist? Channel your inner diva girls, it’s Showtime!
