10 Skin Care Resolutions for the New Year

I love Mondays and the first of the month because they represent new beginnings, but the biggest fresh start is the New Year. Chances are you probably have a list, but let’s add some of our skincare goals this month. Don’t worry if you mess up just start over the following day! 

1-This is an easy one that gives the best results. Drink more water! Water is a miracle worker not only for overall health, but for flawless skin. 

2- Wash your face every night! No! I don’t mean use a wipe, I mean actually wash your face. You will thank yourself in the morning.

3- Go to bed early. Not enough sleep can wreak havoc on your skin. Ever get those comments like “you look tired?” “Well thank you for noticing! I am!” It’s not a compliment, go to bed early!

4- Practice a skincare routine morning and night. I have a habit of being so good about this in the morning, but somehow come nighttime, I am a total slacker. We owe it to our future-selves to be more disciplined about this.

5- Clean out your skincare products; throw out or give away products you no longer need or simply are too old to use anymore.

6- Wear sunscreen! Rain or shine sunscreen is a must to protect your skin from aging and discoloration.

7- If you still smoke, this is probably already on your list, but I’m here to remind you, QUIT! 

8- Whether it’s serums or moisturizers, hydrating your skin twice daily is a must.

9- Exfoliate and/or use a mask at least once a week. Take this time to pamper yourself; about 20-30 minutes a week is a must. Turn off all your electronic gadgets and just unwind.

10- Do not pick your face! Not only is this disgusting, it also leaves scars. So please love yourself and stop! Go get a facial instead to properly get extractions.
